DETROIT — On Thursday, July 17 the Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) will be kicking off its new Automobile Theft Prevention Authority (ATPA) Program from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at ACC Detroit Headquarters located at 111 W. 7 Mile in Detroit.
The theft prevention program provides free vehicle identification number (VIN) etching. VIN etching is a light but visible stencil of your VIN number on each piece of glass in your car. This deters vehicle theft, since in order to resell your car with an altered identification number the thief would have to replace all of the glass in the vehicle. In addition to deterring theft VIN etching may save you money on your car insurance.
ACC encourages everyone to take advantage of this free service. For further information contact Wali Altahif at 313.369. 3126.
