Federal Judge George Caram Steeth is among the judges who will perform in the Oakland Mediation Center’s Valentine’s Ball on Feb. 11 at the Auburn Hills Marriott Centerpoint. The event features federal, Oakland County circuit and district court judges and professional dancers. Steeth is Lebanese.

All proceeds will benefit the OMC’s various youth programs. The OMC has been affective in fighting against bullying in schools, violence, and preventing students from dropping out of school.  According to a report, Michigan students are dropping out at alarming rates, about 21,000 a year.

The state can’t afford increased crime rates coupled with less well educated employees to fill jobs of the future. Ballroom dancing is being performed by the judges who have professional dance instructors.  Local 4 anchor Karen Drew and Judy Susskind, attorney and competitive dancer, will critique the routines. Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will be the master of ceremonies.
