DEARBORN – The Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association issued its rating for judicial candidates and ranked Attorney Abbie Bazzi a “well qualified” candidate for Dearborn’s 19th District Court, while the other two candidates weren’t rated in the release.
Bazzi is bidding for the Judge’s seat against Attorney Gene Hunt and Dearborn City Council President Susan Dabaja. They are seeking to replace retiring judge William Hultgren, whose term will expire at the end of this year.
The Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association is a membership organization of more than 2,500 attorneys, judges and industry partners. It is the oldest Bar Association in Michigan and the second oldest in the nation.
Bazzi personally handled over 12,000 legal matters and directly supervised 42,000 cases.
“It is a great honor for me to receive such an important rating from a prestigious legal association,” said Abbie Bazzi. “This vote of confidence will reinforce my commitment to justice.”
Bazzi is a long time resident of Dearborn and a graduate of Dearborn Public Schools. She and her husband Charlie have four children.
The Primary elections will take place on Tuesday, August 2nd.
