DEARBORN – Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) met with supporters and volunteers at the Michigan Coordinated Campaign Dearborn Office for Hillary Clinton for a voter registration kick-off.
During her visit, Dingell stressed the importance of all that is at stake in this election and just how vital each vote is.
“You need to think about what the implications are if Donald Trump becomes President of the United States,” said Dingell.
During the kick-off, she also announced her participation in the “11th by the 11th Challenge,” a new effort to register voters, where she challenged her congressional colleagues to join her and register at least 11 voters before the October 11th deadline.
She nominated U.S. Representatives John Conyers, Sandy Levin, Dan Kildee, and Brenda Lawrence to accept her challenge and nominate others in an effort to spread the word that every vote counts.
“We need people to know their vote matters and that every person has to vote. We have only a few days left to get people to register to vote,” Dingell said.
Congresswoman Dingell also took time to speak individually with volunteers to thank them for their hard work and encourage them to register voters anywhere they go, including places like the grocery store, barber shops and beauty salons, and local high school football games.
If Michiganders do not register by the October 11th deadline, they will not be able to vote in the November 2016 election.
Michiganders can now check their voter registration status by visiting IWillVote.com, a one-stop online portal for Michiganders who wish to register to vote or check their registration status.
IWillVote.com is a clean, user-friendly interface to seamlessly bring an applicant through the voter registration experience using either a computer or a smart phone. Applicants can then print and mail their application to register.
