The American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee Michigan announced on Thursday the winners of its 10th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarships.
Awardees are to be honored at the groups annual MLK awards dinner on Jan. 30 at the Greenfield Manor Banquet Hall, 4770 Greenfield Road in Dearborn, at 6 p.m.
The competition was open to all Arab and Chaldean American high school seniors in Michigan.
The winners are:
1st Place: Laya Charara, Fordson High School
2nd Place: Adia Abusbeih, Fordson High School
3rd Place: Ahmed Hani El-Sharkawy,West Bloomfield High School
4th Place: David Ahmad Haidar,Fordson High School
5th Place: Lena Malkhasian,Sterling Heights High School
