DEARBORN — On Wednesday, Nov. 17, Henry Ford Community College is hosting “Imagine the Possibilities: Non-Traditional Careers for Women in Technology,” from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The workshop gives women an introduction to work positions that have generally been dominated by men. Those fields include architecture, construction, technology, computer science, information assurance, criminal justice, energy technology, hospitality, culinary arts and manufacturing among others. Women in the fields will be present offering information about their experiences. Dr. Brenda Hildreth, HFCC’s Job Placement officer, will discuss the multiple services women can use and benefit from in her office. Lovell Liddell, HFCC alumni is expected to discuss the challenges of balancing work and parenting while maintaining a successful career. The workshop’s history has proven its effectiveness. It has helped provide important information to women on making realistic decisions in their careers.
