DEARBORN — Police arrested two suspects for home invasion on Wednesday, Jan. 27.
Dearborn Police responded to a 911 call from an alert resident who reported he had observed two suspicious subjects park in an alley behind a home on Orchard Ave.
The two subjects exited the vehicle, pulled hoodies over their heads, and quickly entered a yard that is off the alleyway. The 911 caller remained on the phone with police and watched the home until police arrival. The witness continued to watch the two subjects while providing dispatch with information regarding their actions. Once on scene, Dearborn Police officers approached the subjects who fled on foot; but were later apprehended.
The suspect, Cornelious Tyre McLemore and Terrian Ray Paige were charged with home invasion second degree, larceny in a building, malicious destruction of property, and resisting and opposing police.
Chief Ronald Haddad said home invasion is a dangerous crime that often occurs without witnesses.
“Today however, an alert and caring citizen recognized a crime in progress and took the time to ensure the police were alerted,” he said. “We appreciate and commend this citizen for the community engagement. Policing works best when citizens and officers work together to stop criminal activity.”
