SOUTHFIELD — Life for Relief and Development (LIFE), an American non-profit humanitarian relief organization based in Southfield, Mich., is proudly sponsoring the Humanitarian Day Event for the Homeless in Detroit, in an effort to help ease the hardships of those less fortunate. The event is part of LIFE’s continuing humanitarian efforts locally as well as world-wide, and is being done in partnership with other local organizations,
On Saturday, Oct. 14, LIFE and its partners will provide hot meals, fruit, water, clothes, blankets, hygiene kits, children’s toys and free medical check-ups for 3,000 homeless people in the Detroit area, which is approximately 10 percent of Detroit’s homeless population. The event will take place at Cass Park at Second and Temple in Detroit.
Commenting on this event, Dr. Khalil Jassemm, CEO of LIFE, said, “This effort exemplifies our commitment to provide aid to the needy here in our local area as well as to those world-wide.”
Since its founding, LIFE has provided over $50 million in humanitarian assistance to more than 13 million beneficiaries worldwide.
