LANSING — Journalism students at Michigan State University have published a guide that answers common questions international students frequently ask.
The book, “100 Questions and Answers about Americans,” is available for purchase on Amazon. It costs $9.95 and took only 70 days to complete. The guide went on sale a few weeks ago.
Students in JRN 492, Seminar in Journalism worked on starting conversations with the increasing number of international students.
The course was started by MSU journalism professor Joe Grimm last Spring with the intention of sparking dialogue between people of different cultures.
Grimm says often times students have questions about different cultures but are too embarrassed to ask.
According to a report there are about 7,000 international students who attend MSU.
In the process of creating the guide, students in the journalism course asked international students what they wanted to know about the United States. The book is focused on making international students stay in the United States easier.
