LANSING — Lawmakers in the state have begin approving a new plan that will begin to award money from the state’s new $25-million film production incentive program.
A bill was approved 34-4 in the Senate last Thursday and will now advance to the House. It says that the program will focus on Michigan workers and have operations headquartered in the state.
New incentives are not as high as the 42% mark originally received by film companies but they will reportedly be competitive with other states. Companies that use Michigan workers will receive more incentives according to reports.
