WASHINGTON — Representatives of the U.S. State Department, including ambassadors and other senior-level members, will be visiting Detroit in an effort to recruit more Arab Americans, African Americans, Latinos and other people of color.
The Detroit event will be the 10th held in this series since the U.S. DoS and the Minority Professionals Network (MPN) partnered to initiate this national effort to ensure that the U.S. State Department looks more like the face of America. Previous events have been held in Houston, Los Angeles, Anaheim, San Diego, San Antonio, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago and Raleigh. Future events will be held in other highly diverse major U.S. metro areas.
The event will take place Thursday, October 25, 2007 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel in Dearborn in the Michigan Ballroom. The hotel is located at the juncture of Ford Rd. and the Southfield Freeway. (313) 336-3340
