DEARBORN — Ali Bazzi, Hamadeh Educational Services’ (HES) assistant superintendent of all four HES schools and principal of Star International Academy (SIA), is one of five finalists nominated for the 2017 Michigan charter school administrator of the year.
Awarded by the Michigan Association of Public School Academies (MAPSA), the award is considered one of the most impressive honors a Michigan charter school educator can receive.
“I can’t think of a better person to be nominated for this award,” Nawal Hamadeh, superintendent and CEO of Hamadeh Educational Services, said. “Mr. Bazzi embodies all the values and principals of a true educator; he goes above and beyond the requirements of his role as a school principal and assistant superintendent. Being an educator is not just a job for him; it is a lifelong passion.”
HES and the staff of Star International Academy plan to celebrate Bazzi’s nomination during a staff appreciation event at SIA on May 12 at 1 p.m. The school is located at 24425 Hass in Dearborn Heights.
Bazzi joined the HES family in 2012 after serving as a teacher, assistant principal and principal at other Michigan charter schools. Before his current roles, he served as principal of HES’s Universal Learning Academy, a Pre k -12th grade school in Westland.
